How does the tax thing work for freelance? Do I need to save tax money aside due to the country I reside in or the country the work was hired out from? My situation is weird and has completely melted my brain... I am a US citizen, with a resident visa in the UAE (where I reside permanently and work) - I am currently working on a job from Germany... what am I doing about taxes? Someone help before my head pops off in complete confusion. Thanks!

I have actually just discovered what to do tax-wise. Your income, and its taxation, has to do strictly with where you hold a passport from.

For instance, I am a US national. So I am taxed on my world-wide income... however, if my world-wide income falls below around $80,000/yr... then I won't have to pay on income derived outside of the US.

If you are a UK resident, you don't have to pay on income derived outside of the UK IF AND ONLY IF you are registered under "temporary non-resident" status with Inland Revenue.

If you are an Australian, you don't have to pay on income derived outside of the UK IF AND ONLY IF you are registered as "non-resident for tax purposes" with with the Australian Tax Office.
