Where has the prolific writers gone to?

The age of sitting down to enjoy a good book as long been overtake by internet and Television (Not that i am not guilty of this trend too) but an average human rather watch than read, What happened?

Don't you mean "where HAVE the prolific writers gone to?" or better still "I wonder where have all the (and by prolific do you mean "writers who produce great amounts of content?" b/c that is the dictionary meaning of 'prolific' prolific means; someone who writes a lot; it's that simple. That is, however, not necessarily a good thing; because someone can write a lot of crap, which, unfortunately, is more often than not what happens when most attempt writing.

That's not what you want is it? 

I sense that you want to mean something such as the following:  

"I wonder where all of the writers, those masters of their craft, those experts at effectively communicating ideas, emotions, and complex facts by wielding no more than pen upon paper; yes, I wonder where those writers have gone." Is this not closer to what you wanted to wonder? If not, if you simply wondered where writers who write thousands of meaningless words, sentences, paragraphs, etc., have gone, than I am sorry.
